One San Antonio, Texas, man received a single passing comment from a young boy, which led him to this. The boy simply called his C6 Corvette “Lightning McQueen,” and that started a barrel roll for the transformation seen here.
Brian Hutchinson would spend the next 18 months and $50,000 to painstakingly recreate the colors, decals and racing livery seen on Lightning McQueen, the star of “Cars” films, according to MySanAntonio.com.
“The biggest thing is putting a smile on kids’ faces,” he said. “They’re speechless.”
The car has since become an icon in San Antonio after its debut at the “Cars 3” premiere. Hutchinson often takes the Lightning McQueen lookalike to children’s hospital events and takes ill children for rides.
The graphics look spot on, and we must say, the livery looks great on the C6 Corvette.
