Drivers Michael Cooper and Jordan Taylor claimed the SprintX GT championship title for Cadillac Racing at last weekend’s round of the Pirelli World Championship at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), in dramatic – albeit disappointing – fashion. The No. 31 TR3 Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 spun on the first lap of race two at COTA, taking out the No. 8 Cadillac Racing Cadillac ATS-V.R of Cooper and Taylor, while simultaneously handing them the championship by points.
Johnny O’Connell and Ricky Taylor had better luck in the No. 3 Cadillac Racing Cadillac ATS-V.R, finishing second in the first race of the weekend, and managing a seventh-place finish in the second race. Michael Cooper and Jordan Taylor finished sixth in the first race, but didn’t finish the second after being taken out by the TR3 Ferrari.
CRP Racing drivers Ryan Dalziel and Daniel Morad, who won the second SprintX race last weekend in the No. 2 Mercedes AMG GT3, secured enough championship points at the tenth and final round of the 2017 Pirelli World Challenge SprintX series to land in second for the season, just three points behind Cooper and Taylor.

This is fantastic news.. what Cadillac needs to do next is use images of the Cadillac ATS-V.R from the Pirelli World Challenge SprintX GT series in commercials to help sell the Cadillac ATS.
Amen. I really wish Cadillac would market its racing success more. The ATS-V.R is going against the race versions of some of the most famous and iconic sports cars in the world.
