In China, multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) or minivans are still quite a popular means of transportation. Not only to consumers enjoy their generous space, but fleets adopt the body style as taxis, too. Buick is cashing in on the success and plans to introduce the GL6 MPV.
The Buick GL6 will slot below the Buick GL8, an MPV that dates back to the days of the mid-2000s General Motors minivans. While the GL8 may ride on old bones, the GL6 will be a fairly new vehicle. It’s expected the GL6 will be a copy of the Opel Zafira, which was recently refreshed with a new design. It will arrive with seating for six.
The MPV segment has seen double-digit growth in China with more than one million units sold year-to-date in 2017. Buick has introduced numerous variants of the GL8 MPV and the minivan was also the first Buick vehicle to receive the Avenir sub-brand treatment with the introduction of the GL8 Avenir.

Buick of China should integrate the mild hybrid module developed for Cadillac’s XT5 for usage in the GL6 and GL8 because any vehicle designed to carry 6-8 passengers will need help to improve fuel economy.
and why can’t the AMERICANS build it here to compete with the town and country and all of the imports that do well ??????
