The 2018 Chevrolet Malibu is getting a few notable updates for the South Korean market.
For starters, the midsize sedan gets a new color called Cappuccino Brown. Chevy says that the deep rich color caters to the tastes of young drivers who want a calm and sophisticated look. The new hue received positive critical acclaim when it was introduced on the 2018 Trax. And, as we mentioned previously, the vehicle also receives the Perfect Black edition — which includes:
- Nameplate badge in Black with Red outline
- Black front and rear bowties
- 19″ Black-painted aluminum wheels with Red hash marks
- 245/40R19 all-season, blackwall tires
- Blacked-out grille
- Black outside mirror cover
But perhaps the biggest news of all is that the 2018 Malibu has been certified as a type-3 low-emissions vehicle when equipped with the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine (LYX). Made possible by a new engine control unit (ECU) software, the type-3 emissions certification gives owners a variety of perks, including:
- Discounted parking in parking lots in subway transfer areas in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do
- A 50 percent discount on parking fees at 14 airports, including Incheon and Gimpo Airports
- Discounted or free parking in public parking lots depending on regions
- Parking in dedicated parking lots at public offices

I just like how the Korean Malibu gets HIDs and NA we don’t get any at all
GM never takes care of its home country…Always finds an excuse to screw the American consumer. Funny how they can always find a way to do it with other in other countries.
Still don’t see how this car is released without advanced headlight when all the cars in it’s class have them.
