2018 Chevrolet Colorado Centennial Edition Helps Celebrate 100 Years Of Chevy Trucks

Chevrolet brought not one, but two surprises to the Texas State Fair in Dallas, Texas. For fans of full-size pickups, the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado Centennial Edition will do, but Chevy’s mid-size truck gets some heritage-inspired goodies, too.

The 2018 Chevrolet Colorado Cenntenial Edition hauls in Chevy’s heritage bowtie badge and a “Centennial Blue” exterior color, notably. We happen to think the Silverado Cenntenial Edition wears them better, but still, it’s one of Chevy’s birthday presents to loyal customers over decades of truck sales. Chevy has sold 85 million trucks in the past 100 years.

Chevrolet will offer the 2018 Colorado Centennial Edition in crew and extended cab configurations, but those interested must select the Z71 trim to unlock the throwback design cues. Additionally, Colorado Centennial Editions receive a “100 Year” badge on the door, and the heritage bowtie emblem is embossed in the floor liner and spray-in bedliner. To differentiate the truck even more, the rear bumper and grille surround is finished in Centennial Blue as well.

Optional 18-inch wheels, chrome tow hooks, belt molding, mirror caps and door handles round out the special editions’ upgrades.

Those interested in their own Centennial Edition Chevy truck will find the Silverado Cenntenial Edition at dealerships in October, while the Colorado Centennial Edition will arrive one month later in November.

  1. GM failed to meet the release date for the Colorado centennial edition. Was expecting mine before Christmas but was told it’s on “containment” hold. Have no idea when or if this will be produced. Still waiting and have no update information. In the meantime, they managed to get the Silverado released. Disappointed again by GM.
