After surfacing for sale on Craigslist, President Donald Trump’s commissioned 1988 Cadillac limousine will head to the Volo Auto Museum in Volo, Illinois.
The automotive museum purchased the Cadillac Brougham-based limousine, according to Fox News, and plans to display its latest acquisition in about two weeks. The limo reportedly arrived in better condition than expected and has just 20,000 miles on the odometer.
The limousine project was a stillborn effort to produce a fleet of Trump-branded limos for the 45th president’s hotels and properties. The limos were to be outfitted with the most cutting-edge technology available at the time. This 1988 Cadillac Trump limo features VCRs, paper shredders, a fax machine, car phone and more. Trump only ordered one of the limousines following a production deal between Dillinger-Gaines Coachbuilders, though a second limo was produced and is owned by a UK-based collector.
When it was for sale on Craigslist, the seller asked just $36,000 for the Trump-branded limo, but it’s unclear what the auto musuem paid for it.

A little digging unearths a pretty interesting story … Dillinger was run by a Colombo crime family-man … Trump and ‘Johnny’ designed two prototypes, Cadillac gave 45 a gold Allanté (“like I don’t have enough toys”.)
Ordered 50, took delivery of one prototype (he gave to his dad). The 2nd prototype seems to be the one that ended up in the UK.
The gold Allanté’s whereabouts are apparently unknown.
Volo, Illinois is not Chicago, IL. By a long shot.
