It feels like we’ve been covering the C7 Corvette ZR1 for eons with every test mule sighting or drip-drop of information that leaks onto the internet. Now, we have a new photo to ponder over.
The photo was posted by Corvettes at Carlisle on the event’s official Facebook page without any accreditation to who took the picture. The caption simply reads, “Hmmm, wonder what these are?” It’s unclear if the cars showed up with any connection to the massive Corvette event or if the figure behind the social media simply snapped the picture.
The photo shows a team unwrapping the C7 Corvette ZR1 in the parking garage, but the cars are still covered in their typical-swirled camouflage. The photos also only show the front ends of the car, which still feature the gaping lower grilles, a front splitter and a hood bulge.
While some have said a ZR1 debut a Corvettes at Carlisle seems possible, we doubt it. The 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show or the 2018 North American International Auto Show seem like the most logical debut locations as of now.

This is a GM leak.
They like to drop Easter eggs and photos like this posted by someone they work with is not a shocker.
C7 Corvette ZR1 Prototypes has a hood bulge that looks more pronounced than of the Z06, could be just an optical illusion; but it could mean something new and nasty is lurking under the hood.. as we’ll have to stay on this station to find out more.
I live in Carlisle and think I recognize the parking garage. It looks like the Comfort Suites in down town Carlisle. Hmmm
new vid. https://youtu.be/gRF7dqvYLsE
Is anyone talking about mid-engine release, it seems a bit late for that party. O well rumors of it since the 1970’s. Whoopie!
It would be awesome if there was one at the Carlisle. I will be there.
I have had 5 vettes. So far I love the body of the 82 and the performance of the C6 any year. When they went to the C7 they got away from the Corvette rear end look and to me the futuristic look looks cheap. The C6 was much nicer and cleaner. Don’t get away from what got cha there.
Corvettes need more leg room, and adjustments on the seats. Not all potential vette owners are under 5’7”. Just sayin. Till then I’m not buying one. Ever..
I’m thinking your about 5’5″ and never Sat in one.
I’m 6′ and to drive it like it’s meant to be I move the seat forward 2″ from the back.
I agree with Guy. I’m 5’8″ and I have tons of room – forward and backward – to adjust the seat to a comfortable driving position. If you haven’t test driven one yet, what are you waiting for?
Thankfully, Chevrolet brought up upcoming pre-release details about the new Corvette ZR1, reporting a centrifugal supercharger producing 36.5 PSI of boost inside of the 6.3-liter LT5 V8 engine, an output of 909 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 600 lb-ft of torque at 7,950 rpm, and some 275/30ZR19 front and (we dare you, this is not a typo→) 395/35ZR18 rear (first ever) Michelin Pilot Extreme Sport XCR (Cross Country Racing) tires. Unfortunately, for the knob-shiftin’ fans, the 10-speed automatic will be the only transmission available for the new C7 ZR1.
The Corvette ZR1 actually smacked the quarter-mile down in 8.90 seconds at 157.55 mph on August 20th, 2017 at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, making it not only the fastest street-legal production car ever, but also the first street-legal production car to break into the territory of EIGHT seconds through the first 400+ meters. The ZR1 also pulls 1.70 g on a skidpad with Z07 package, or half a g even more than the current Z07-packed Z06. The ZR1 will again be the fastest Corvette with a top speed of 236 miles per hour; with Z07 package, the top speed will be brought down to 201 mph, and with Z07XX package (probably improving the skidpad to around 2 g’s), 178 mph.
FYI: The LT5 has a slightly increased displacement from the more regular, 6,162cc LT4 and LT1 engines, bringing the count up to 6,301 cubic centimeters.
Corvette would be a lot better if it was a 18′ wider and a 18′ longer ,,, Chevrolet just went to the Nissan GT direction instead of the Lamborghini big bad ass car,,,
General Motors has always kept their little secrets! Here is another! The L-88 was not the only monster in the house! In December of 1967 (under big block chevy codes ofc-9xz listed as 4t,4u and 4w 1968 CHEVELLE! This is what created (from a 350 H.P. 396 gm1 block to a gm3 block. Andrew Hitler, this specifications is too unbelievables.
I Don’t believe this.
I’ll be happy when the designers drop the rear end that looks like a tailgate for a 1/2 ton custom pickup
