This year, General Motors’ premium Cadillac brand is celebrating 115 years of producing memorable automobiles. To commemorate the occasion, Cadillac today announced an exclusive new CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition for 2018, of which just 115 examples will be produced. Based on the ordinary third-generation Cadillac CTS-V that enthusiasts know and love, the Glacier Metallic Edition offers up the same 640 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque, courtesy of GM’s supercharged, 6.2-liter LT4 V8.
In addition to the special Glacier Metallic paint, the exterior of this limited-run CTS-V model features forged 19-inch alloy wheels with a polished finish and Midnight Silver-painted pockets, plus an attractive dark red color for the standard Brembo brake calipers. Illuminated door handles are included as standard equipment, as is the Carbon Fiber Package, which includes a carbon-fiber splitter, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, and hood vent.
Climb into the cabin, and you’ll find Jet Black sport seats from Recaro, expansive UltraView sunroof, and a Performance Data Recorder system with Cosworth Toolbox analysis software – all optional extras on the standard CTS-V model. Cadillac’s industry-first Rear Camera Mirror and next-gen CUE infotainment are also standard, along with the rest of the Luxury Package: tri-zone climate control, window sunshades, a split-folding rear seat with armrests, 110-volt AC outlet, and heated rear outboard seating positions.
The 2018 Cadillac CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition will arrive in dealerships starting next month, with an MSRP of $103,885 including destination. Cadillac says that 105 of the total run of 115 cars will be available for immediate purchase. We can’t think of a more fitting way to commemorate the brand’s 115th birthday.

The CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition looks good. I have two questions; How much above the MSRP will dealers attempt to gouge customers for? The second question, is how is this special edition worth the approximate $10,000 more than the regular CTS-V especially when the depreciation rate for this so called “special edition” will in all likelihood remain the same as the regular CTS-V?
You can order one with the same specs and grind them down on price to the bone. anybody who pays above asking for any car is just a sucker.
Mr. Wood,
You are absolutely correct. And that is a good idea you have!
I hope Cadillac sees 115 more years! Talk about having a collectors car! This isn’t a car you buy for now this car is purchased for 20 years from now
In 20 years – barring any surprises – I will be dead. I have owned a lot of performance cars in my life. I have never bought them to collect. I buy cars to drive and enjoy. I understand that other people buy special or limited editions to collect them. That is fine also. It is the difference between those that buy stamps to lick and use as opposed to those that buy stamps to collect. The “licker” at least enjoys the fine taste of the stamp’s glue and propels his letter somewhere else. The collector gets the pleasure of looking at his stamps on occasion and leaving something behind for his heirs to sell! LOL!
