Another week, another C7 Corvette ZR1 spied in the flesh. This time, the amateur spy photos were published by an individual who happened to be at the right place at the right time.
Once again, we see this Corvette ZR1 prototype sporting a massive rear wing, aggressive front splitter, enlarged air ducts up front and familiar five-star spoke wheels. Swirled camouflage adorns these areas, while much of the body is exposed in a typical red hue found on other C7 Corvettes.

The hood’s power bulge is present as well, though it’s still unclear what exactly will be powering the C7 Corvette ZR1. Much evidence has piled up pointing to a 6.2-liter LT5 V8 engine, though a more potent 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine is also very possible. Whatever engine is under the hood, we know it sounds decidedly supercharged.
Rumored reveal dates have come and gone, which leads us to believe Chevrolet may be saving the C7 Corvette ZR1 for a proper auto show introduction. The 2018 North American International Auto Show seems like a good guess as of now.

Well the pictures look like they were taken from a camera phone….
Lost in translation much…..the author is not calling you an amatuer, you amatuer.
If this is for the 2018 naias I doubt Chevy would reign on the ZR1 parade with a mid engine within 18 months my guess even though all signs point to selling both at the same time
With 2018 debut and for sale within 6 months I doubt they would dilute the sales of there flagship front engine farewell vette that fast
The full discover of ZR1 is near……………….
The pictures of Chevrolet’s C7 Corvette ZR1 prototype says Chevrolet is answering issues those who have driven the C7 Corvette Z06 experienced with LARGER front vents to channel more air to the brakes and engine as Chevrolet’s answer to the reported overheating issues, the large rear wing is the solution to increasing rear downforce and possibly a larger supercharger to milk out more power from the 6.2L V8 or possibly the prototype engine for the next generation mid-engine Corvette.
Omegatalon:
I think the overheating problem of Z06 is because a software issues, the same engine in the CTS-V and was no reports about overheat.
