The GM Authority Take
After a launch whose sales results could only be described as disappointing, LaCrosse sales are picking up steam. The strong July gains follow similar results for June and May, despite competing in a market that is favoring SUVs and crossovers. If the LaCrosse can continue to keep up its sales gains for the remaining five months of the year, then it has a chance to finish 2017 with an increase in year-over-year sales volume. It should, however, be noted that the overall sales volume could be inflated by high fleet sales, which are less profitable than retail sales.
About Buick LaCrosse
Introduced for the 2017 model year as an all-new model representing the third generation of the LaCrosse nameplate, the full-size sedan is getting various updates and changes for the 2018 model year, including a new base engine — the 2.5L I-4 eAssist mild hybrid, which enables the base price of the full-size sedan to fall roughly $1,500 to $30,490. Other notable changes include the addition of three new exterior colors, the introduction of GM’s 9-speed automatic transmission to replace the 8-speed unit, and expanded availability of all-wheel-drive.

Unless the sales numbers are backwards I believe that would be a decrease not an increase
Increased to a negative 18.3%.
Things have changed from the 2010 launch, when it outsold Lexus, I guess.
Still trying to clean up the seemingly indelible stain of Joel Ewanick, apparently.
The third generation Lacrosse has a very impressive exterior and interior style which can compete with all of its foreign competitors . some day GM will learn how to market a model like their competitors . I am a owner of a second generation Lacrosse and people still ask me what kind of car is this
Same thing, and I agree, pretty much.
Question- What happened to the 2018 LaCrosse’s drivetrain? The 3.6 has been downgraded from 282 to only 268 torque and the mileage actually goes down from 21/31 25 combined to only 21/30/24 combined despite losing power and obtaining the new 9 speed transmission. I thought these new greater speed transmissions were supposed to make gas mileage go up not down. What gives? One would think with upcoming stricter CAFE regs that mileage would be going up not down and the way the EPA is rating certain vehicles is very suspect.
The new 2017 Hyundai Elantra is a perfect example. It is rated for only 38 highway on the basic SE model and 37 on the other models except Sport. We drove a 2017 base SE all day Saturday and it exceeded that figure by up to 6 MPG easily going 75 MPH with the A/C blasting. How in the hell are they testing these cars?
