One Oklahoma family was shocked when they discovered a brand-new 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer buried in their backyard. How did it get there? There’s a story behind it, but it doesn’t all add up just yet.
Freddie Green and his son Cody were readjusting a dirt ramp for their ATV and dirt-bike trail when Cody stumbled upon something beneath the ground. He kept digging and discovered whatever it was had a hood. His father told him to stop digging and called the police, fearing there may be a foul twist to the discovery.
Thankfully, local police cleared the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer and no remains were found, but it still left everyone wondering why a brand-new SUV was buried six-feet underground wrapped in a plastic tarp. Police were able to read the license plate and trace the tag back to the previous owner of the Green’s property. According to records, the 2003 Trailblazer was reported stolen in 2003—the same year the car was purchased.
Now, police believe the previous property owner may have carried out insurance fraud, but no charges have been brought against the unnamed individual.

“Traiblazer”? Was it a South American model? 😉
No.
I wouldn’t exactly call it brand new.
Being buried 6 feet under kind of does that to you, or a vehicle.
As well as the minor fact that it was PURCHASED by someone, license plated, and owned, which makes it a pre-owned vehicle.
Seriously, how does this article state both “Brand New 2003” and “read the license plate and trace the tag back to the previous owner”?
Hey guys, I’m selling a BRAND NEW Ford F350! It has 10 years on it and 200k miles, but its BRAND NEW.
“According to records, the 2003 Trailblazer was reported stolen in 2003—the same year the car was purchased.”
Has no one here taken a “purchased”, “plated”, “owned” vehicle and said to someone “come see my brand new vehicle”? Not used, but brand new, off the lot.
Yes, it is used as soon as it is registered, but the “new” factor does last for a bit of a while.
I meant that post as a joke, really. If I want to go even further, there’s really been 2 owners: One back in 2003, and the Earth who drove the Trailblazer for 14 years without insurance or proper documentation.
Mother nature… taking advantage of our system!
It looks like an act of insurance fraud has been unearthed to me.
Authorities are now digging for clues.
I think it was WRAPPED up in 2003.
