Take that, Europe. Finally, something really cool that Americans can have, and Europe can’t. Keep your slices of forbidden fruit that are hot hatchbacks because we have the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE.
Per the latest episode of Motor Trend’s “Ignition,” in which the 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE stars in, host Jonny Lieberman reveals the hopped-up, track-bred Camaro can’t be sold in Europe. Why? All the additional aerodynamic components.
Chevrolet added a larger front grille, splitter and replaced the daytime running lights with the massive dive planes to cut through the air and also force more air in for cooling purposes. It’s functional, and it looks properly menacing. What it isn’t good for is pedestrian safety.
With the additional aerodynamic bits, it also means the 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE will absolutely fail Europe’s pedestrian safety standards. Apparently, Europe doesn’t want Camaro ZL1 1LE puncturing people with its aero pieces.
Aside from that nugget of information, you can check out the entire episode in the video above and watch the 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE rip around mountain roads.
