As usual, Chevrolet was on-hand to award the MLB All-Star game’s most valuable player with a shiny, new car. This year, Robinson Canó earned the honors at Marlins Park in Miami where he selected a 2017 C7 Corvette Grand Sport.
Canó managed a home run, RBI and a run scored during the All-Star game to earn the “Most Valuable Player” accolade. He was presented with either a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 or the C7 Corvette Grand Sport—both excellent choices in their own right.
The award is Canó’s first, but it’s the third time a Seattle Mariners player has earned MVP at the All-Star game.
Chevrolet continues to sponsor Major League Baseball and has since 2005. In the process, it has provided more than 135,000 equipment kits through its Chevrolet Youth Baseball program.

Another way overpaid athlete gets a free car. Hopefully he donates it to a worthy charity.
Good choice, but with his 10 year/$240,000,000 contract he could afford a couple thousand Grand Sports.
Always makes me mad that a Rich dude who can afford to purchase any car he wants gets a car for free. The C7 Grand Sport is the car I wish I could have but sadly can’t afford it.
Green eyed monster has you in his sights…
I have an idea. Instead of giving the All Star Game MVP a car. How about Chevrolet making a donation in the athlete’s name to a charity of their choice.
