Kia has brought on a face familiar to Cadillac. Bill Peffer has joined the Korean brand as its head of sales after a 10-month stint at Cadillac, where he held the same position.
Peffer was most currently the president of New England based dealership group Balise Motor Sales. He was also Nissan Australia’s CEO and also worked for Ford.
Like Cadillac, Kia suffers from a similar problem: too many cars in a market hungry for utility vehicles. The lack of light trucks and SUVs in Kia’s portfolio has meant slumping sales—the brand is down 9.8 percent this year.
Peffer’s hiring also comes after the Korean brand brought on Saad Chehab as its chief marketing officer. Chehab is best known for Chrysler’s “Born of Fire” Superbowl advertisement.
Peffer’s appointment is effective as of July 24.

But…but he barely had time for an espresso at Melody’s Cadillac Sorority House, Kappa Kappa Chino!
Anyway, wonder what he saw that encouraged him to leave after 10 mos? It’s not like Kia doesn’t have issues, as well …
Who said he left of his own accord.
Many times people are encouraged to find a new place to land when they are found not to be a good fit.
Odds are we will never know the truth.
Worked with Bill at Balise. Great guy. Left Cadillac when one of the Balise brothers got very sick with cancer to help the family out. Congrats to Bill and good luck with his future endeavors.
Ohh, man. Sorry to hear that.
Wish him the best, as well as the Balise family …
