General Motors’ Australian subsidiary, Holden, is recalling the Commodore and Caprice ranges with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) engines over an issue that could result in a fire or a fuel hose leak.
The defect:Â if a LPG vaporizer has been serviced or replaced, there may be a loose electrical ground connection. This may cause an electrical arc in the LPG fuel feed hose.
The hazards:Â if the defect occurs there is a risk of a fuel hose leak or fire, which may pose a rise of injury to the vehicle occupants and other road users.
Affected vehicles:
- VE/WM and VF/WN Holden Commodore Sedan, Ute, Wagon, Caprice with LPG engines
- Affected build range: 6G1EK4E40CL600020 to 6G1NP5E4XFL147410
- Affected production dates: February 10, 2011 to September 9, 2015

So does this mean that the defect is caused by whoever performs an incorrect service or replacement of the LPG vapourizer and this is not a defect from the factory ?
