The GM Authority Take
The Chevrolet Trax continues to demonstrate its sales prowess as car buyers continue to gravitate towards crossovers at the expense of sedans. The model was the third most popular vehicle in its class in June, behind the Honda HR-V and GM’s own Buick Encore, which shares its platform with the Trax.
Rounding out the contenders are the Toyota C-HR in fourth place and the Nissan Juke in fifth. Next to enter the growing segment will be Ford with the EcoSport and Hyundai with the Kona.

Given the continued strength of the B-segment CUV segment as well as the ongoing growth in crossover sales, we expect that the Trax will continue posting sales gains for the foreseeable future, given that GM can keep up with demand at the two assembly plants building the Trax:
- GM Bupyeong factory operated by GM Korea
- GM San Luis Potosi factory operated by GM Mexico

Chevy Trax is a cute little guy; but it would be interesting if Chevy offered a model of the Trax featuring elements from the Hummer to make it look a bit tougher.
I would love to see Chevrolet offer a Trax like the one pictured above. That takes it from being cute to looking tough and I would definitely consider buying one.
It would make a worthy renegade TrailHawk competitor
