Check Out This LSA-Swapped 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville: Video

Take the timeless appeal of a 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, add to it the modern capability and refinement of a second-generation CTS-V powertrain, and what you get is the basis for perhaps one of the coolest restomods around.

The classic Coupe de Ville shown in the video above benefits from both the supercharged, 6.2-liter LSA V8 and the 6L90E 6-speed Hydra-Matic transmission that were pulled from a second-gen CTS-V, along with the 6-piston Brembo brakes. In addition to those parts, this de Ville also features a Ridetech adjustable coil-over suspension, Delphi 670 steering box, and a Currie Ford 9-inch rear with 3.55 gears.

Just as important, the 58-year-old donor Cadillac appears to be in excellent condition, with a glossy white finish and a clean interior to match. In place of the original steering wheel and radio are a 15-inch billet wheel and a Retrosound MP3 head unit.

Go ahead and click play above to enjoy the sights and sounds of this old-school Caddy as it prowls the countryside with swagger.

  2. I’m honestly thinking about stuffing one of those CTS-V engine/trans combinations in the ole ladies Escalade, since she doesn’t seem to be willing to let me but a CTS-V. But if I can blow enough smoke about her nice vehicle needing an engine (might be hard to do since it’s pretty low miles), maybe it’s just a pipe dream….

  3. Now that’s what I’m talkin about!! Too bad new GM cars only have the a great drivetrains and no character in the looks category, other than Corvette and Camaro. HINT GM…. build a nice mid sized, rear drive, V8 performance coupe…maybe…please!! Please, no one respond with a…what about ATS or CTS! One is too small (basically a four door Camaro) and the other is too big and only comes four door, both overpriced!
