The GM Authority Take

After three consecutive months of lower year-over-year sales in the U.S. market, Escalade sales rebounded in May and in June. The growth in sales volume should come as no surprise, as the market is currently hot for CUVs and SUVs at the expense of other vehicle types like sedans and coupes.

What’s more, higher Escalade sales is great news for The General, as the Escalade is one of GM’s most profitable vehicles, if not the most profitable. As such, a rebound in Escalade deliveries should lead to growth in GM earnings in the second quarter of 2017.
