Autoline Breaks Down The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV: Video

The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV has caused a flurry of interest as one of the first mass-market electric cars to arrive with a fairly affordable price of $37,495 before federal tax credits.

But, what’s really going on behind the scenes? How did GM develop the car? What’s the thought process behind the design? Autoline recently went live to break down the 2017 Bolt EV to answer more of the unknown questions.

And it had a special guest to help do so: Sandy Munro. Munro has made name advising some of the world’s top executives on technology transfer with his roots coming from the automotive and aviation industry. He also tore down a BMW i3 to get to the bottom of what makes the BMW EV tick.

So, he did the same with the 2017 Bolt EV and his complete analysis is available in the video above. Check it out for yourself.

Sandy Munro continues to rave about how much superior BMW’s i3 is because of the composite components; but he does say a couple of things of interest which is that the investment of a DC charger is worth the money given that it would recharge the Bolt’s battery in 90 minutes and how Porsche’s new 400-volt DC battery charging system could do so in 15 minutes.
