The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE is the most track-capable Camaro to have ever left the factory, and soon, Motor Trend will dive into just how bonkers the beast is.
The latest teaser for “Ignition” shows the upcoming episode will be all about the 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE, and we’re totally OK with that. As a refresher, the Camaro ZL1 1LE is the 2017 Camaro ZL1’s bigger brother. It features enhanced aerodynamics, a set of DSSV dampers and larger, stickier tires to help it demolish any race track that comes in its way.
Speaking of race tracks, the 2018 Camaro ZL1 also managed to lap the Nürburgring in an astoundingly quick 7:16.04.
In the meantime, check out the teaser video for the episode right up above.

With news of Cadillac’s plans on discontinuing the ATS, Chevrolet may have it’s own platform for the Camaro and not need to share it with anyone.. unless General Motors to allow Buick to bring the Avista coupe to production.
I kind of doubt Camaro will get its own platform. The whole industry is scaling down. There’s even rumors the mustang might go to a shared platform for the next gen. If anything the new platforms will be extendable and come in short form that will address the whole line up including sedans and coupes. My guess is the new CT5 underpinnings will be shared with the camaro
