1965 Pontiac LeMans Convertible Gets A 2-Day, Frame-Off Restoration: Video

The 1965 Pontiac LeMans Convertible in this episode of Hot Rod Garage, a.k.a the “LeManster,” underwent a frame-off restoration and was back on the road in just two days thanks to the hard work of Tony Angelo and Lucky Costa.

During the previous episode (Ep. 51), the fellas get to work by replacing rusted out parts and installing a full-frame brace kit. This episode picks back up with the build, and shows the installation of a full QA1 suspension system from the front strut-bar to the rear sway-bar. Some drilling is required, but the guys make most of the work look easy.

The other big-ticket item installed on the LeMans in this episode is the new Holley Terminator Stealth EFI system. This is a fuel injection system with the looks of a conventional carburetor, making it perfect for folks who want modern-day performance and drivability while retaining that classic, carbureted muscle-car look under the hood.

At the end of the video, the Pontiac LeMans gets taken for a test drive, and things seem to have gone as well as the Hot Rot Garage guys could have hoped. The suspension and EFI system need a few small tweaks, and the car itself still needs quite a few parts before it can be considered road-legal, but all the tough stuff is out of the way. Not bad for two days’ work.
