This Twin-Turbocharged LSX-Swapped Honda S2000 Is A Purist’s Worst Nightmare: Video

About two years ago, Car Throttle author Christopher Smith published an article entitled: “5 Cars You Must Never Drop An LS V8 Into. The first car on that list was none other than the diminutive Honda S2000 roadster. There are many who would surely echo this sentiment, not least of all because the high-revving four-cylinder engines that the S2000 shipped with from the factory were revered in their day for their exceptional power density and character.

To those people, this twin-turbocharged, LSX-swapped Honda S2000 can really only be described as a total abomination. To them, it’s every bit as offensive as a C5 Corvette with a Ford V8 under the hood.

But then, there will be those who are curious to see what this thing is like to drive. “It’s not for me,” they might say, “but at least it’s not a wimpy four-banger powering that thing.”

To put it simply, a build like that in the video above is divisive. It will always get flack from some motoring enthusiasts, but there will also be those who praise it. This isn’t even the first LS-swapped S2000 we’ve seen, and chances are it won’t be the last. In fact, a company called Import Muscle offers a “complete” LS V8 swap kit for less than $2,000.

It looks like the builder still has a quite a bit of work left to do, but as it sits now, do you applaud the fruits of this builder’s labor, or do you think it’s a forsaken mistake? Let us know in the comments below.

  2. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.
Reminds me of the guy that stuffed a 327 in a Nash Metropolitan. Not as big a sacrilege, but just as stupid.
