Thief Disguises Stolen Acura With Cadillac Parts To Avoid Arrest

It seems like quite a bit of trouble to go through just to steer clear of authorities, but we suppose this thief really wanted to hang on to this Acura.

According to Temple Daily News, a 2004 Acura MDX was stolen in Temple, Texas, and the thief then used parts from a stolen Cadillac to try and disguise the car.

The report states, wheels, tires and Cadillac badges were all swapped on to try and disguise the Acura as a Cadillac. However, surveillance footage gave police a name. Brandon Cox was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, which is a state jail felony.

Unfortunately, there are no photos of what the Acura looked like with the Cadillac parts on it, but we imagine it would stick out like a sore thumb to anyone who knows a thing or two about cars.

  3. This reminds me of when I had a Dodge Stealth with Mitsubishi 3000GT taillights on it.

Cops pulled me over ALL THE FREAKING TIME.

“This license plate is registered to a Dodge, and this is a Mitsubishi”
“Actually officer, its a Dodge Stealth- feel free to check the VIN. My understanding is there is no law against having a different name on the car”
“Correct there isn’t, but we just wanted to check” or “well can you show me that X Y Z part works” or “some other BS excuse to pull me over.

Makes me want to do this legitimately again.
