A local Texas police department has a new cruiser on its hands: a C6 Corvette Z06. However, this Corvette police car won’t be patrolling the streets of New Braunfels, it’s being used an engagement tool for the community.
The police department took to Facebook to debut the C6 Corvette Z06-based police car, which it has possessed since 2015. The Corvette Z06 was confiscated from a drug dealer and has since gone through the black-and-white police livery transformation. In the process, it earned the nickname “Coptimus Prime.”
The department made it clear this is not a “new” addition to the fleet and it serves in parades and other community events for the time being.
Eventually, the police department will retire the Corvette from engagement duties and plans to sell the car at auction. Proceeds will help fund other community projects.
So, rest easy locals, there won’t be a Corvette Z06 in your rearview mirror any time soon.

While highway patrols need cars like this Corvette to make high speed chases if the department doesn’t have access to a helicopter or drone; most city patrol cars doesn’t need to be gas powered as they can be EV (electric vehicles) as it would be interesting if General Motors took the guts of the Chevrolet Bolt and built a Police cruiser for the 21st century.
Thanks down-voters for continuing to put America at risk through your Dunning-Kruger lemon-juice thirst for stupidity.
Do you realize that America’s Capital buildings in Washington DC are surrounded by old Crown-Vic’s parked but on idle, with our finest Police Officers posted right next to them – that’s right America’s finest sucking carbon monoxide fumes for the stupid-honor of these downvoters.
Electric police vehicles could be at-the-ready permanently, with no fumes to poison the excellent police officer.
Downvoting this one PROVES anti-police stupidity.
Clearly the drug dealers should have bought a “fast” car…… 😉
