The Opel Tigra was never drop-dead gorgeous by any stretch of the phrase, though, your mileage may vary. We appreciate its quirky design, but there have been plenty of other pretty cars over time.
A new rendering from Kamil Podolak imagines the Tigra as a modern sport coupe and we like what we see. Clearly, it’s based on the Opel GT concept from 2016, but the artist does an excellent job turning the Tigra into something of its own. It’s sleek, decidedly rear-wheel drive looking and encompasses Opel’s latest design motif. We like.
However, we doubt a new Tigra will ever become reality. Opel had been searching long and hard for a business case to build the Opel GT concept but, alas, GM didn’t have a suitable platform. Opel even looked at modifying a Mokka crossover to make it happen. Maybe that will change under eventual PSA Groupe ownership, though.
Still, this reborn Tigra would make a lovely rival to other European sport coupes. It’s just likely to remain a digital work of art rather than reality.

Doing a story about the 20202 Opel Tigra is like taking pictures of your ex-wife’s baby.. why not do a story about some of the concept cars that GM of China is rolling out instead.
