Ford and other rivals best watch their backs: the Holzer R5 Corsa is here to tear things up. Holzer, the German company responsible for this angry little Corsa, has its eyes on WRC 2 Support Category in the FIA WRC Championship.
A 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine provides 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, while a five-speed manual transmission routes power to all four tires.
“We believe in R5 as a very competitive and interesting rally category. The technology is affordable so we decided to start a project to build the Holzer R5 Corsa. Now we are looking forward to the feedback of the rally community,” said CEO Guenther Holzer.
The next step is for the R5 Corsa to be homologated by Opel to be eligible for competition. Have a look at how angry the R5 Corsa is in the video above.
Why are we talking about Opel vehicles.. as General Motors has sold Opel to PSA as this webpage should concentrate on vehicles under the GM umbrella.
Opel Group remains a part of GM until at least 31 July 2017 and GM will continue to sell and distribute vehicles produced by Opel Group for at least another 7 years.
