The Cadillac XT4 is expected to usher in the new Cadillac. It will be one of the first vehicles to come to market under current president, Johan de Nysschen. The latest spy shots of the crossover also suggest it will have a plug-in variant.
We’ve seen similar spy shots in the past, but once again, there seems to be a second fuel door hiding on the front fender just ahead of the driver’s door. This is likely a charging point. On the same side, a second flap likely conceals a gas cap.
The XT4 is shrouded in mystery overall. Reports have suggested it will ride on the D2XX platform, though, it seems unlikely. The crossover also looks too small to be riding on the C1XX platform, like its XT5 brethren. Therefore, it’s likely this CUV is riding on something different entirely, though, likely closely related to C1.
As for powertrains, the spy shots show an intercooler is present, which means turbos are under the hood. Turbocharged four-cylinder engines are almost a given, while a V6 could be possible depending on the platform and packaging.
The Cadillac XT4 will show face in early 2018 as the brand has promised two new vehicles every year beginning next year through 2020.
