General Motors CEO Mary Barra has been anything but soft spoken about what areas will see the largest amounts of growth in the job sector. So, she has offered up her advice yet again on what to study in order to achieve a high-paying career.
Software engineering and math skills are going to be some of the most valuable areas for future jobs. Barra went on to all coding a “core skill,” during an interview with Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg. GM has worked to push science, technology, engineering and math for students.
Right now, software and computer-related jobs are some of the highest-paying jobs in the country with salaries easily clipping $100,000 a year. Data from various studies shows the skill set in these careers are incredibly valuable and will only grow in importance in many fields.
GM partnered with Girls Who Code to help young women aspire to achieve their engineering goals. Women, on average, are underrepresented in STEM jobs, and Barra is working to change that.
“I think it’s so important to have the skills of the future,” Barra said.
Ladies of the world if you want to have a great job and move up the ladder. BE REALLY GOOD LOOKING!
Set aside a certain amount of time per day to work on your looks, seriously don’t think that brains are the only thing that will get you a promotion.
Be smart, be confident, and be attractive! And you will go straight to the top!
