Home ownership has always been a part of the American dream, but not all dreamers think the same. In fact, some may not like the idea of living in a stationary location. That’s where this 1976 custom GMC motorhome may tickle your fancy.
It’s not your average motorhome, though. It began life as a traditional 1976 GMC Birchhaven motorhome but it has been transformed into something of a hot rod. Work began in 2007, where the body was removed and modified to sit atop at Workhorse chassis. Under the hood went a 6.6-liter Duramax V8 diesel engine paired with a 5-speed Allison transmission.
Modern amenities are aplenty inside, too. There’s a push-button toilet, sink, shower, TV/DVD/stereo system, air conditioning, porcelain cooktop and more. Sleeping accommodations are present for two adults as well.
The seller says the motorhome pulls well and will return around 18 mpg during road trips.
The current bid on eBay for the motorhome is $28,382 but the reserve hasn’t been met yet. Three days remain to bid on the motorhome and it could make for quite an addition to road trip loving travelers.

That is the vehicle that was used in the movie Stripes, with Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and John Larroquette.
There’s an ad for that vehicle on http://www.gmccoop.com They are asking $68,000! Looks like it may not sell through Ebay.
