Chevrolet Teases Its Official Camaro ZL1 1LE Nürburgring Lap: Video

What happens when Chevrolet introduces its world-eating Camaro ZL1 1LE to the “Green Hell”? We’ll find out soon enough, as Chevrolet today unleashed a new video teasing an official Nürburgring Nordschleife lap from the 650-horsepower brute. While we don’t know what sort of lap time we ought to anticipate from the new ZL1 1LE, the non-1LE variant posted an awesome 7-minute, 29.6-second turn around the Nordschleife last year. That’s the time to beat.

The Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang’s best time – a reported 7 minutes, 32.19 seconds – has already been beaten.

Aiding the new Camaro ZL1 1LE in this task will be a suite of aerodynamic upgrades, including a new rear wing, upsized chin spoiler, and big dive planes. Also of use: a set of Dynamic Suspension Spool-Valve (DSSV) dampers from Multimatic, similar to those used on the last Camaro Z/28, and Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar tires that lend the ZL1 1LE up to 1.10 g of lateral grip.

We’ve little doubt that Chevrolet will soon release an onboard video showing the 2017 Camaro ZL1 1LE’s full, blistering lap of the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife. But until then, all we can do is wait expectantly, and click play over and over again on Chevrolet’s teaser video below.
