High mileage cars are becoming more commonplace today as drivers hold onto their vehicles for longer periods of time. But, we’re talking 100,000 miles, or maybe 200,000 miles.
This Chevrolet Silverado has outdone that feat and clocked 500,000 miles. Thankfully, the owner and a passenger were on hand to celebrate the momentous occasion with plenty of humor.
Just as the digital odometer switches from 499,999 to 500,000, it’s a party. The passenger blows a party horn and the Silverado is awarded a cupcake with a candle for all its hard work. How does a Silverado blow out a candle? With the air conditioning, of course!
It’s a quick 30 seconds, but it’s humorous nonetheless. And this truck cements itself as a figurehead for Chevrolet’s Truck Legends program with the accomplishment.

804,000 km, or to the moon and back.
Well, a little more info about the truck is warranted, right??????
GM should promote the ledgends program more. I never have heard about it. I know Pontiac and Cadillac have had similar programs.
This program could do much if the general public was more aware. There are so many high mile trucks out there and still rolling up the miles.
This is an example of why the age of vehicles is growing. Vehicles are better built than in the past. Congrats to the owner!
I’ve got a 2000 Silverado with 313,000 miles and still running strong
I’m over 350,000 miles on my 2013 Silverado 1500 WT and still going strong. I’m a courier and most of my miles are on the interstate running between 75 and 80 mph. I haul loads from 50 lb to 2000 lb. I’ve always used full synthetic oil and flush the transmission every 50,000 miles. The original brakes lasted until 290,000 miles! I finally had to replace the transmission at 330,000 miles, so no complaints at all with my Silverado.
2008 Silverado 1500 with 333,000 — still like a rock.
I have a chevy 2002 2500hd silverado 6.0, with original engine and transmission with 577k. Still running strong.
I have Tahoe with over 500000 same trans and motor it came with
Nice. Which model year and engine by the way if you do not mind me asking? GMT800?
