The GM Authority Take
Despite the ongoing shift in the consumer behavior dynamics wherein car buyers are favoring crossover utility vehicles (CUVs) at the expense of sedans, the LaCrosse managed to deliver rather strong sales volumes numbers for May. We attribute the impressive sales jump to increases in fleet sales (which do not necessarily mean daily rental car sales) as well highly attractive incentives currently being offered on the sedan, which was headlined by a discount of up to 17 percent off the MSRP on select models.
For the 2018 model year, the LaCrosse is getting various updates and changes, including a new base engine — the 2.5L I-4 eAssist mild hybrid, which enables the base price of the full-size sedan to fall roughly $1,500 to $30,490. Other notable changes include the addition of three new exterior colors, the introduction of GM’s 9-speed automatic transmission and an expanded availability of all-wheel-drive.

Proof that the 2017 model year price increases did not go over well with consumers. Price them where they should be in the first place and more buyers will come. The 2018 price decrease is welcome but I hope that base model doesn’t lose any content.
When is Lacrosse going to get the Aviner trim option? Also is AWD going to be offerd in lower trim levels now?
FWD cars continue to outsell RWD cars.
Normally hate to see a car rental car fleets but this is a really good driving car and it looks great out on the road, has a really good road presence. I do think adding the defeat button for stop/start would single handedly boost sales by 10% for 2018.
Most every other manufacturer offers a defeat button for this so I see no excuse why GM doesn’t.
I’ve always thought the Lacrosse looks better all three of Caddys RWD cars….the ATS, CTS and CT6.
I think they should of made the grill bigger or deeper, whatever. That seems to be the trend and people are trendy.
