The GM Authority Take

The Encore’s record-setting sales performance over the past three months perfectly exemplifies the market shift towards crossover utility vehicles (CUVs) at the expense of other vehicles such as sedans and coupes. The same can be said of the Encore’s platform mate, the Chevrolet Trax, which saw sales rise 21 percent to 6,174 units in May.

Buick is giving the Encore a handful of updates and changes for the 2018 model year, including a new exterior color, an cabin air ionizer, and more. See the complete 2018 Buick Encore changes and updates.

  1. Encore isn’t luxury. Encore is nice, should be a Chevrolet sold next to Sonic. Trax is another example of GM dumbing Chevrolet down for the sake of Buick.
With Opel gone hopefully Buick will get more unique product. Alpha and Omega should be used in AWD and FWD guise.
