“A segment of one.” That’s how Chevrolet is portraying the 2017 Colorado ZR2, its first serious off-road vehicle in years. To highlight some of the advanced technologies and engineering present, the brand has put together a new video series. And it begins in Yuma, Arizona.
Yuma is home to one of many General Motors proving grounds, but here is where trucks are put to the test. The Colorado ZR2 faces the most extreme desert conditions here as it’s jumped, drifted and plowed into the hot sand. Here, the Multimatic DSSV dampers certainly come in handy.
Next, we’re ushered to the deep sands of Silver Lake, where engineers dig the Colorado ZR2 into the sand to ensure optimal traction is always available. After all of this, engineers always ensured the Colorado ZR2 could be hosed down and driven to the office the next day. An everyday off-roader.
Check it out in the video above as the ZR2 begins to trickle into dealerships as you read this.
