For better or for worse, the ‘Real People, Not Actors’ marketing campaign has certainly caught the attention of many. Some scrutinize it as a condescending insult to viewers’ intelligence; others take it at face value with a sense of humor. Yet regardless of which camp you’re in, there’s no denying that it’s got people talking.
In the latest ad in the campaign, the focus is on highlighting the safety features of the new Chevrolet Malibu, and their ability to make drivers more aware. A big take away is Teen Driver Mode, which allows parents to be much more hands-on in monitoring their off-springs’ driving behaviors.
We really enjoy that this commercial doesn’t stop at the idea of assisting only young drivers, but older drivers, too. Texting from behind the wheel is most often associated with teens, but it’s important to keep in mind that plenty of older folk are guilty of this offense, as well.
The less-than-three-minute ad ends with a little twist, reminding us that there’s always room for improvement regardless of age or experience. Go ahead and click play above to see it for yourself, and then feel free to give us your take on the ad in the comments section below.
