Holden New Zealand Reveals Colorado Blackout

Automakers have noticed a trend in the aftermarket space, that is, black accessories for full blacked out vehicle. In turn, General Motors has rolled out special editions through its various brands—specifically Chevrolet. But, now Holden is in on the trend.

Holden New Zealand has rolled out the Colorado Blackout and the name implies exactly what the special edition nets: all black everything. Black wheels, black bumper bar, black door trimmings, you name it, it’s probably finished in black.

“We launched the new Holden Colorado to Kiwi motorists six months ago and it has not only received rave reviews but has also attracted significant attention from people desiring a viable alternative in the light commercial segment,” says Holden NZ’s general manager of marketing, Marnie Samphier.

The reveal of the Holden Colorado Blackout comes two weeks after Ford revealed its Ranger FX4 painted in Shadow Black, complete with black accessories. Coincidental timing.

The Colorado Blackout also follows the Holden Trailblazer Z71 edition, which adds unique exterior upgrades to the rugged SUV, itself based on the Colorado.
