If you’ve ever seen Corvette Racing compete in person, you know the Corvette C7.R’s 5.5-liter V8 is just about the loudest thing on track. While the Ferraris, Porsches and other high-revving cars tend to have a more ear-piecing, Soprano-type vocal range, the Corvette emits a thunderous, baritone growl that rumbles the ground and hits you right square in the chest.
Corvette Racing’s European friends over at Larbre Competition typically run a full GTE Am season in the FIA World Endurance Championship in their C7.R, however it’s rumored the team is preparing a GTE Pro effort for next season. In turn, the team is only running one GTE Am race this year: the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. They can’t just show up to the world’s most grueling endurance race and expect to be competitive, however, so they ran the recent European Le Mans Series’ 4 Hours of Monza to prepare.
Larbre’s C7.R was recently filmed drowning out the sound of the European sportscars at Monza by YouTube’s 19Bozzy92. If you’ve never heard the C7.R in person, we highly suggest you turn the volume up on your speakers and check out the video above. We’ve seen the C7.R race on a number of occasions and even we found ourselves watching the 6-minute clip over and over again.
