Chevy Suburban Sales Drop 24.4 Percent To 3,228 Units In April 2017

Chevrolet Suburban sales decreased in the United States and in Canada during April 2017.

Chevrolet Suburban Sales – April 2017 – United States

Chevrolet Suburban deliveries in the United States totaled 3,288 units in April 2017, a decrease of 24.4 percent compared to 4,269 units sold in April 2016. In the first four months of 2017, sales of the extended-length, full-size SUV increased 11.5 percent to 16,673 units.

Chevrolet Suburban Sales – April 2017 – Canada

In Canada, the Suburban recorded 165 deliveries in April 2017, a decrease of 3.5 percent compared to April 2016. In the first four months of the year, Suburban sales decreased 34 percent to 390 units in Canada.

The GM Authority Take

Having made its debut for the 2015 model year, the Suburban remains a strong seller for Chevy. Though year-to-date sales are up and the model recorded record sales results last month, the April sales decrease runs counter to the general market trend of growing CUV and SUV sales. As with the Tahoe, the circumstance could negatively impact GM’s profitability, since the Suburban and other vehicles on GM’s K2 platform, are significant profit drivers for General Motors.

Hence, it will be interesting to see how Tahoe sales fare in the second half of the year.
