Accident Watch: Good Samaritans Lift Cadillac Off Of Man Struck By Two Cars

File this one under things you never imagine happening, but it did. According to local news affiliate WDAF, Carlos Green was struck by not one, but two vehicles as it stood outside a convenience store in Missouri.

The incident involved a stolen Chevrolet van, which ran a red light and nearly t-boned a Cadillac DeVille. The two cars then changed direction and barrelled towards Green. Orlando Gentry and Troy Robertson were working at a nearby store when they saw the crash unfold.

The two quickly sprung into action as the van thieves jumped out and fled the scene. Gentry and Robertson corralled a crowd of pedestrians to quickly lift the Cadillac off of Green, who was pinned between both cars, likely saving his life in the process from the car’s crushing weight. In a bit of luck, a fallen lamppost just misses Green as it crashed down on the Cadillac.

His injuries were not life-threatening, thanks to the quick action—Green was discharged from the hospital with bruises and a leg injury.

Police are still searching for the van thieves, but thankfully, the scene wasn’t as deadly as it could have been.
