Tire And Wheel Thieves Strike SUVs In Birmingham, Michigan: Video

It goes to show no area is safe from crime, even in upscale neighborhoods like Birmingham, Detroit. Click On Detroit reports the neighborhood is the most recent target for wheel thieves, who struck a pair of SUVs overnight.

One, a Chevrolet Suburban, was left of blocks when the owner’s wife discovered the wheels had been stolen and locking nuts left behind.

“We don’t have a garage to put both cars in, so I don’t know what (else) we could do other than hope it doesn’t happen again, which isn’t a great strategy,” the owner said. The other victim was notified by police, not realizing his Lincoln Navigator had been left on bricks in his driveway.

The wheels are valued at $3,000 for the Suburban and the owners are hoping it doesn’t happen again.

“I wish they hadn’t done it, and it’s really disappointing you have to steal from other people,” the owner of the Suburban said.
