Opel is dipping its toes further into carpooling and various sorts of personal mobility with its latest partnership with France’s BlaBlaCar. The deal is pretty simple: use your Opel for carsharing through BlaBlaCar and receive special deals and discounts in return.
Through BlaBlaCar, the world’s largest long-distance carpooling community, Opel will offer special deals and discounts on for the lease or purchase of a new vehicle. Furthermore, Opel will toss in further discounts on lease payments for every month owners carpool through the BlaBlaCar service.
“The BlaBlaCar community will purchase more than 1.3 million cars in 2017. The idea here is to leverage the strength of this community to unlock deals that our members would not otherwise be able to access. We want to return value to our Ambassadors, whilst allowing their shared car usage to generate significant additional savings on the cost of their car,” Nicolas Brusson, CEO of BlaBlaCar, said.
Opel will include the Corsa, Astra, Mokka X and Zafira in the pilot program. More vehicles may be added should the pilot be deemed successful.
As traditional car ownership continues to shift, Opel expects more types of programs, such as its partnership with BlaBlaCar, to crop up. For now, though, the deals look pretty attractive through BlaBlaCar.

I have tried several times to obtain an answer from Buick to see if the new Buick Tour X could be purchased without the ugly black plastic trim around the wheel wells. So far I have heard nothing. I would like to buy the new Buick but I don’t want the trim. But so far no one at Buick will contact me. Makes we wonder if maybe buying a new Buick would be a mistake if the don’t care enough to talk to a potential customer
