HPE Exorcist Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Makes 959 HP At Rear Wheels: Video

A lot of buzz surrounded Hennessey Performance Engineering and its decision to reveal the Exorcist Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 ahead of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. And with its reveal, it announced a lofty horsepower figure of 1,000 hp.

But, none of that means much if the power can’t be delivered to the wheels. Thankfully, the Exorcist Camaro ZL1 is capable of doing just that. Video from HPE shows the Exorcist Camaro ZL1 strapped in for a few dyno pulls to see what kind of monster the performance house created. A monster it is.

The dyno shows a real wheel horsepower figure of 959 hp and a max torque figure of 756 pound-feet. Remember, the Dodge Demon makes do with 840 hp and 770 lb-ft of torque on race gas. Those numbers aren’t rated at the rear wheels, either.

But, it’s also worth arguing the Demon was birthed from the factory and was okayed by suits in corporate. HPE obviously has a bit more leeway with its business. HPE will also take on the Demon itself; the performance house already announced plans for a 1,500 hp variant.

No matter, the Exorcist Camaro ZL1 is still quite a hellish thing, and you can hear it roar on the dyno in the video above.
