GMC Yukon Sales Up 3.9 Percent To 6,046 Units In March 2017

GMC Yukon sales increased in the United States and decreased in Canada during March 2017.

GMC Yukon Sales – March 2017 – United States

Cumulative deliveries of the GMC Yukon family totaled 6,046 units in March 2017, an increase of 3.9 percent compared to 5,821 units sold in March 2016. The 6,046 March deliveries consist of:

  • 3,197 deliveries of the regular-length Yukon, a decrease of 5.8 percent compared to 3,394 units sold in March 2016, and
  • 2,849 deliveries of the extended-length Yukon XL, an increase of 17.4 percent compared to 2,427 units sold in March 2016

In the first three months of 2017, cumulative Yukon sales increased 11.8 percent to 17,540 units, comprised of:

  • 9,984 deliveries of the Yukon, an increase of 11.2 percent, and
  • 7,556 deliveries of the Yukon XL, an increase of 12.7 percent

GMC Yukon Sales – March 2017 – Canada

In Canada, the Yukon family recorded 371 cumulative deliveries in March 2017, just one unit less over the 372 units sold in March 2016. The 371 units are comprised of:

  • 208 units of the regular-length Yukon, an increase of 15.6 percent compared to 180 units sold in March 2016, and
  • 163 units of the Yukon XL, a decrease of 15 percent compared to 192 units sold in March 2016

In the first three months of the year, cumulative sales of the Yukon family totaled 857 units in Canada, a decrease of 7 percent compared to the first three months of 2016. These 857 deliveries are comprised of:

  • 477 units of the Yukon, up 1.7 percent from the 469 units sold in March 2016, and
  • 380 units of the Yukon XL, down 15.9 percent from the 452 units sold in March 2016

The GM Authority Take

The continued gain in Yukon sales during the first three months of the year further illustrate the ongoing change in consumer behavior dynamics that favors CUVs and SUVs at the expense of sedans and coupes. Even better is that the Yukon’s sales performance is closely linked to General Motors’ financial performance, since vehicles based on the K2 platform are the most profitable for GM.
