General Motors supplier Tenneco plans to hire 79 additional workers at its Lansing, Michigan facility, according to The Lansing State Journal. Tenneco is responsible for exhaust assembly parts for the Lansing-built Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse.
The company will take on 79 new hires as it final assembly production of the exhaust components shifts from Litchfield to Lansing, a company spokesperson said. Available positions include welders, machine operators, production team leaders, quality control technicians and shipping clerks with wages ranging from $17 to $25 an hour.
For those interested, interviews will be held at Lansing American Job Center this Wednesday between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
General Motors Lansing Delta plant will actually see employee layoffs as the GMC Acadia Limited exits production after the current 2017 GMC Acadia moved to Spring Hill, Tennessee. The UAW has stated the layoffs will likely be temporary.
