The first production unit of 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE has found a home after selling at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction this past weekend.
The most track-capable variant of the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro met the hammer with a selling price of $250,000, with each dollar going to benefit The United Way. The Camaro ZL1 1LE, if you aren’t aware, takes the Camaro ZL1 and adds a dose of track readiness in the form of DSSV dampers, larger tires (capable of pulling 1.10 g) and plenty of aero bits.
The Camaro ZL1 1LE was also three seconds faster around GM’s Milford test course than a regular Camaro ZL1.
It’s no Z/28, but it’s the next best thing until the Camaro team sheds light on what a sixth-generation Z/28 will be capable of, whenever that may be.
