There’s a lot to discuss when it comes to the all-new 2018 Buick Enclave. Not only does this (finally) mark the full-size crossover’s second generation, it ushers in Buick’s new Avenir sub-brand.
But, one luxurious feature isn’t saved for just the range-topping Avenir. The 2018 Buick Enclave features a cabin ionizer as standard on all trims save for the base model. Those who choose an Enclave Essence, Premium or Avenir trim will be treated to an ionizer.
What does it do? The ionizer captures the air inside the cockpit and works to eliminate odors and ultimately provide cleaner air.
Negatively charged particles are produced inside the ionizer and attract any airborne contaminants, neutralizing them as needed.
Not only does the air ionizer keep the cabin smelling fresh, but it can also work to address bacteria, viruses, dust, debris and pollen. Best of all? It requires no maintenance or filter replacement.
Buyers can look forward to easier breathing and cleaner air when the 2018 Enclave reaches dealerships this coming fall.

WHY IS THIS NOT IN EVERY CADILLAC?!?!?
Its in the CT6.
I have had my new 2019 Buick Enclave for 30 days and have been driving around with the ionizer on. I was getting an irritated throat and burning sensation in my lungs every time I drove the vehicle. At 1st I thought it was off-gassing from the new car materials. I turned the ionizer off today and that was the problem. Immediately the burning in my throat & lungs stopped. Now I smell the new car smell without throat irritation. This did not affect my husband or kids. Just me. I think it’s a cool feature. Wish I wasn’t sensitive to it.
how do you turn off the ionizer in the Enclave?
