There’s a lot to talk about with the 2018 Buick Enclave, and specifically the Buick Enclave Avenir. Not only does the 2018 Enclave (finally) mark the second-generation of the crossover, but it also births the Avenir sub-brand for Buick.
The brand specifically has made a pretty big deal about its Evonik Acrylite lighting technology. It’s a first for Buick and it amps up Buick’s signature winged lighting to a new level. Specifically, 100 LEDs across the vehicle benefit from the compound curvature application. It’s a small touch, but it’s the little things that help Buick’s concept design cues translate to production. If you glance at the Avista’s front clip, the Enclave Avenir looks pretty darn similar.
The Evonik Arylite technology is also paired with bi-functional LED projector headlamps, which not only improve visibility, but also automatically switch the high beams on and off. It’s not exclusive to the posh Avenir either. The Acrylite lighting can be found on each Enclave trim — base, Essence and Premium.
We’re still waiting for Opel’s incredible IntelliLux Matrix LED system to make its way stateside one day. Until then, we’ll make do with the crisp eyes found on the 2018 Enclave.
