DriveTribe Bids Farewell To The Vauxhall VXR8: Video

The lucky, lucky Brits have had something us Yanks never got. That would be the Holden Special Vehicles treatment in form of the Vauxhall VXR8.
A near clone of the HSV GTS, the VXR8 offers the UK a shot at 6.2-liter supercharged LSA V8 ownership in the form of a big, rear-wheel drive sedan. While North America has been treated to the Pontiac GTO (Holden Monaro), Pontiac G8 (Holden VE Commodore) and the US-only Chevrolet SS (VF Commodore), we’ve never been graced with HSV goodies. So, yes, we’re jealous.
DriveTribe has had a VXR8 for a long-term loan, and no surprise here, it has fallen in love with the high-performance sedan.
Not only is the performance delivered absolutely bonkers, but the livability factor scores very high. Comfortable cruiser when you want, track day brute with the mash of the throttle.
It’s a shame HSV as we know it will soon be left without a rear-wheel drive Commodore, but we can take solace in films like this. Have a look right up above.

Forget this car, how about the new Verano, or the newest crossover SUV?
GM is becoming sterile. In the USA, Tahoe sales are increasing, while the the SS is dying. Were’s your unisex bathroom, you haven’t seen your own junk in years, too many Big Macs.
This is the last affordable, fun-with-a-capital-F performance sedan. Now all GM have left is Corvette and Camaro coupes and the overpriced Caddy CTS-V. Arrrgh.
