The GM Authority Take
The XT5 continues to reap the benefits of current market trends in which consumers favor crossovers over sedans. The vehicle’s March sales performance enabled it to occupy second place in terms of cumulative sales volume in the midsize luxury front-drive crossover space directly behind the Lexus RX, which accounted for 8,745 deliveries during the month.
Even so, Cadillac remains absent from the “true luxury” midsize crossover space defined by the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class (née ML-Class), Jaguar F-Pace, and Porsche Cayenne.
