Based on a high-tech, modern and lightweight rear-drive architecture labeled as the Omega platform, the CT6 is the first Cadillac model ever to compete in the full-size luxury flagship sedan space that has been defined by such segment stalwarts as the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8/S8, and Lexus LS.

How many of the CT6 sold were the plg-in hybrids?
The figures are not available for the PHEV individually… so unless Cadillac decides to report on that model separately, we won’t be able to report on those figures.
The Mercedes dealership near my home sells 400 cars per month on average in Toronto. Never seen a CT6 on the road yet.
Most of those are C, CLA, GLA and GLC classes… very few are S-Classes. How many of those do you see? Probably more than the CT6, since the S has been around for 30 years… while the CT6 is in its second/third model year.
How is the new Continental doing in comparison?

The continental competes with the XTS, NOT the CT6. Amy sales comparisons between the CT6 and CONTI are not really relevant.
Both have level of sales which are insignificant…
They don’t have to have big sales numbers. They just need to make money on each one sold.
Insignificant compared to the Cruze? Perhaps. But not insignificant for the vehicle program and segment.
Insignificant compared to the world wide volume pumped out by the Germans. When you look at their products and lineup, with the advent of autonomous cars, I’m starting to think they can never catch-up and are too late to the party. Especially Lincoln.
They surely must be losing money making only 11,573 of these in a year.
Not if the ATP is high enough.
And you say this Gary, based on what… that it’s a low volume product?
So by that notion, Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Lexus must all be losing money on their full-size luxury cars too right? Or the Corvette program is losing money too, no?
Hopefully you realize just how far off the mark you are.
I would love to see Cadillac come out with a CT8
Cadillac should realize that there are enough luxury car owners in the USA that own either an S550, Audi A8 or BMW 750 that would love to buy an American made product that is comparable to those 3. I believe if Cadillac would build a luxury V-8 like a CT8 with all the bells and whistles with quality wood and leather with a large comfortable interior, they will come!!
Beliefs vs facts and reality.
This is a tiny market in the US and now Tesla has decimated it with nearly 50% market share. There’s no money in it. Maybe the Chinese market could warrant such a vehicle in the future.
The car would have to be reliable. Cadillac and dealers would have to honor the warranty. This “within spec” and “functions as designed” jive is a gift from Cadillac to the import makers.
Too clever by half.
